Episode 3 - How to Add Formal Assessment to Everyday Learning
This Episode features Lauren Valla,
Grades 5-8 Math Teacher, preschool and elementary parent.
Lauren, a long-time Math teacher shares ideas about project-based learning and how to ‘sneak’ assessment into learning that is contextual and practical. They also provide handy resources for people teaching at home.
Lauren Valla, a middle math teacher for 15 years as well as a parent to two young children is the guest speaker on this episode of the podcast. The conversation topic is about teaching everything that you want to teach, and how to use projects to cover more topics. Using project based learning is useful because learning can be woven into it and not feel so much like learning. Mrs. C gives tips and shares her knowledge with Ms. Valla as they go back and forth with the conversation. More questions arise and they continue the conversation about how to integrate topics into learning or just talk in the classroom.
