Preschool Cook

Oak Tree Schools provide academically rich environments that promote social and emotional development for children. Our inclusive programs help all children and we purposefully work to close gaps in achievement and access that persist in education for Black, Latino and economically challenged students.

We are seeking a cook who can prepare nutritious, balanced, and cost-effective meals for children daily. The responsibilities of the school cook/catering manager might include: food ordering Planning menus within a set budget and adhering to nutrition and healthy eating guidelines

The work of the cook position will be to:

​

• Prepare, cook, bake, and serve a variety of foods in quantity at an assigned school site.

• Assist in other food preparation duties as directed.

• Maintain facilities in a clean and sanitary condition

• Methods of handling foods to be stored.

• Order ingredients

Career Pathway: Successful work in this position leads to: full-time Food service director.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in food preparation and cooking within a preschool or similar environment

• Strong food handling and service skills

• Background in the food industry with culinary experience

• Familiarity with dietary department operations and menu planning​
