Built for Working Caregivers: Open before school from 6:30 AM and after school until 6:00 PM, with a half-day Kindergarten program available.
-
The "Helping Hands" Community Closet: 40th Street is home to our student-run community closet, offering free clothing, canned food, and household items to families in need.

Our Three Pillars of School-age Care

We look at school-age development through three simple lenses to ensure your child stays academically on track, socially confident, and completely supported.

1. Academic Extension: Beyond the Classroom
Our school-age programming is designed to complement K–5 learning, matching activities directly to California State Standards, providing academic enrichment.
-
Our experienced educators provide daily homework help, taking the stress out your evenings.
-
For students in half-day kindergartens or during short school days, our MAE curriculum brings reading, math, fine motor skills, and art to life through active, hands-on challenges.

2. Social Skills & Community Impact
As children grow, their relationships with peers and the world around them become incredibly important. We use research-backed teaching to help school-age children build high-level emotional and relationship skills.
-
We guide older children in building positive, respectful relationships with parents, teachers, and peers, helping them navigate conflicts peacefully.
-
Our students learn real-world responsibility, taking the lead on community projects and becoming collaborative, empathetic leaders .

3. Family First: Stress-Free Logistics for Caregivers
We handle the daily practical details so you can focus on the joy of your family when you pick your child up at the end of the day.
-
We offer reliable morning care starting at 6:30 AM (including a nutritious breakfast) and after-school care until 6:00 PM.
-
We get that parents' have busy schedules, that's why we provide daily transport to and from local schools, keeping your child's transition to our center safe and seamless.

Our Curriculum
Learning by Doing. Thinking by experiencing.
At Oak Tree, we believe that children don’t learn by sitting still, they learn by getting involved.
Our curriculum is built on the MAE framework (Meaningful Assessmentready Experiences), which transforms everyday activities into powerful educational milestones.
Whether it’s baking a pie to understand measurements or planting a garden to explore life cycles, we provide "something to do" that demands "something to think about." It’s a research-backed world where play is purposeful, and every experience is a step toward kindergarten readiness.
Your Welcome to Oak Tree Learning Center
Your experience begins with a private tour and a one-on-one orientation with our Director to discuss your child’s school schedule logistics, academic struggles and strengths and any caregiving challenges you may be navigating.
Together, we determine a seamless routine to help your entire family flourish. While we offer digital check-ins for convenience, we prioritize in-person connection through daily interactions and school-wide Monthly Experiences.
At Oak Tree, you are joining a supportive community dedicated to your child’s success from their very first day.

Your Oak Tree Community
Our One-of-a-kind Monthly Experiences
At Oak Tree, we bring community resources directly to you. Our school-wide Monthly Experiences blend educational themes with real-time visits from local partners - like medical providers, dental offices, Black Infant Health services, and local artists.
These events are designed for busy families, typically occurring during pickup hours so you can engage with neighborhood experts and celebrate your child’s community projects - such as food drives or local donations - without any added strain on your schedule.
